"We must have respect for both our plumbers and our philosophers, or neither our pipes nor our theories will hold water."
--John W. Gardner

The brain is one of the most energetic organs in the body. Though it accounts for only 2% of our body weight, it uses between 20% and 30% of the body's energy.

Cool!! A "MUMMIFIED" DINOSAUR!! National Geographic reports that the Hadrasaur, nicknamed Leonardo, was discovered in Montana. The fossilized casts pf an INCREDIBLE 90 percent of Leonarto's soft tissue is providing a veritable smorgasbord of scientific information for Paleontoligists.

His remains include FOSSILIZED samples of skin (below) MUSCLE tissue... even his last meal.

Three other mummifed dinos were found in the early 1920's, but their remains were a loss because preservation techniques were so primative. This time will be different. Scientists plan to use the most advanced techniques available to glean answers to questions dino enthusiasts have wondered for years. What was his skin like, what did he eat, how did he really walk, and how well did he move?

Leonardo (who was named after two names carved near the burial site in 1913) made his debut today at the Octobet 9-12 Meeting of the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology in Norman, Oklahoma. He is thought to have been 3 or 4 years-old when he died, and was about 22 feet long. The length is estimated from measurements taken from the curled and twisted body. His final meal was conifers, magnolias and ferns. Whole Story on National Geographic.com
