Je$$e

This is a moral question. This is an imaginary situation, but I think it is interesting to decide what one would do.

The situation: You are in the Midwest, and there is a huge flood in progress. Many homes have been lost, water supplies compromised and infrastructures destroyed. Let's say that you're a photographer out getting still photos for a news service, traveling alone, looking for particularly poignant scenes.

You come across the Reverend Jessie Jackson who has been swept away by the floodwaters. He is barely hanging on to a tree limb and is about to go under. You can either put down your camera and save him, or take a Pulitzer Prize winning photograph of him as he loses his grip on the limb.

So, here's the question, and think carefully before you answer the question below the photograph.

Which lens would you use?

From an email recieved 05/30/01

Jesse Jackson walked into the appliance section of a Sears Roebuck store.

He looked around then shouted, " I want to see the manager right now!"

The manager of the department came out and said, "how can I help you Reverend?"

Jesse replied, "I want to know why all of your washing machines are WHITE?"

The manager immediately flipped open all the lids of the washing machines and said: "Reverend Jackson, yes, all of our machines are white but if you look inside, you'll find that all of the "AGITATORS" are BLACK!!"

Not to be taken in any sense but a political one, in light of Jesse's rent-a-riots.

This little girl, named Jessica, can't find her parents. Can you help?
